Most clients see results for 3 to 5 weeks, depending on your natural hair growth cycle. With regular waxing, hair tends to grow back finer and sparser over time — so results improve the longer you maintain a consistent schedule.

At least 1/4 inch (about 6mm) — roughly the length of a grain of rice. If the hair is too short, the wax won't grip it effectively. We recommend waiting at least 2–3 weeks after shaving before your appointment.

There's a brief sensation when the wax is removed — most clients describe it as a quick sting that fades immediately. It gets more comfortable with each visit as the hair grows back finer. Areas like the upper lip and bikini line are more sensitive than legs or arms.

If you're using retinol, tretinoin, or other exfoliating treatments, you should stop applying them to the area at least 5–7 days before facial waxing. These treatments thin the skin and can cause it to lift or tear during waxing. Always let your artist know about any current skin treatments before your service.

A bikini line wax removes hair along the edges of the bikini area — what would show outside a swimsuit. A Brazilian removes all or most of the hair in the entire bikini area, front and back. Both are available at Kala Studio — just let your artist know your preference when booking.

Let hair grow to at least 1/4 inch. Exfoliate gently 24 hours before (not the day of) to reduce ingrown hairs. Arrive with clean, dry skin — no lotions or oils on the area to be waxed. If you're getting a Brazilian, wearing loose, comfortable clothing afterward is a good idea.
